Movie Night

I’ve got in me the capacity to watch a movie loads of times, sometimes without much in the way of a break, even. This was the case with The Island, a movie out of Russia in the early 2000s. I saw it last week, I tried to watch it last night, and I succeeded at watching it tonight, before writing this. Perhaps unsurprisingly I paid the closest attention that first time. The second time was tough because there were four kids under three in the room and the third time...because, well, watching a movie three times in a week isn’t so easy a thing to do.

But did it we did, and it was beautiful, even that many times. I think it’ll lend me some wisdom for confession, only the second time doing that.

I’m not sure which movie I’ve seen the most number of times, maybe Phantom Thread. It’ll be a good thing when I’ve gone to confession more times than I’ve watched that movie, or any movie. Already I think I’ve been to the divine Liturgy more than that number. We went at least forty times this years, it’s dang cloes to fifty if it’s a dozen. Google knows.
