Whimsy means...
Whimsy means...
- An unusual, unexpected, or fanciful idea; a whim.
- Quaint, fanciful, or playful humor.
- A whim; a freak; a capricious notion.
The things that make us happy make us wise.
I made a shelf for some eggs today. It holds thirteen egg, which seems like enough. We’ve got about that many chickens, but some of them are old, and one is a rooster. It’s likely the thirteen slots’ll overflow in the summertime, and I think that’s an indication it’s time to give some friends a gift.
We made that shelf, and moved some furniture and burned some incense and hung some art and watched The Lord of The Rings, but only after pancakes. It’s days like this that make me feel like a hobbit in a good way.
This past summer I went what felt like months without putting on shoes, and I intend to beat that record. May seems reasonable, April, aspirational.
More and more whimsy’s the word. Not cool or unique or beautiful or awesome or sacred or impressive or expensive or rare or strange or even rad but rather whimsical.
I think this curved egg shelf by the south window is pretty whimsical.
