Sit Down

In anycase, I’ve been having a devil of a time sitting down to write. The last few days I’ve tried doing it after this blog, and I do this blog last thing. I’ve got very little juice to squeeze by end of day, and even less after I’ve written this here thing.
The writing has been hard going, barely over my word minimum, and uniformly bad. Worse than the blog, and the blog’s barely worth anything at all.
If I’m having a hard time sitting down to write fiction at the end of the day, maybe the thing to do’s to do it at the beginning of the day, and to not be sitting while I do it.
I have very little time to write in peace. Mostly I’m doing things around the house or taking care of Roby or doing my day job. Abby works on Saturdays, so I’m on Roby duty which means no unbothered writing, and on Sunday we have church for the better part of the day.
The moments of peace I have had, and hopefully will continue to have, are my morning walks. Almost exactly four miles I walk pretty slow. Through the snow it takes me over an hour. Back when I used to write short stories for Sindome, the role playing game I was a part of, I’d write them on my walks.
I can’t be distracted by the internet on my walks and I’m moving my body. This morning I wrote 619 words, more than twice my daily allotment. They’re in desperate need of a hard handed editing, but I think they’re decent enough. Generally moving forward I’d like to edit them before or after writing this blog, but I went to see Nosferatu this evening. It was a lot of fun.
It could have been 10% campier.
A lot of things would benefit from 10% more camp.
