Protest Birthday

Today was the day we really celebrated Robinia’s birthday, and it was a good day. We had a bonfire last night, and that was good. And despite not having slept much the night before, I stayed up to watch the Matrix with Jacob. That movie rules, so, I had to.
This morning was a Roby & Dad day. We Abby went off to work, and we did our best to eat as much breakfast as we could until Archie caught it unattended and finished it. Abby had a fair bit of eggs, and that was good. We went on little walk then we went into town to look around, visit some friends, and see the large protests that were going on. It was a good time, and I’m glad we were there.
After that, we went apple picking with the family. The apples were good, the doughnuts were better. We also got some incredible clothes for Robinia from Japan, those were best of all.
When we went down town I ran into a friend I haven’t seen in about three years. We’ve always had a slightly strained friendship. We just don’t get on all that well. And that was reflected in the first few moments of our meeting. But they saw me with Roby and suggested that wow, I appear to be a good dad, what the heck? I appear to have come into myself in that dading, and that was nice to see.
They didn’t say that in so many words, really, but it was a subtext, I reckon. And one that I feel fairly proud of.
