Dreams Like Balloons
You have got to be ready for them to float away, and even if they don’t, they get kind of soft and droopy after a little while.
Wether you’re buying a new house or starting a relationship, or carrying a special rock up a hill, you need to believe that it’s going to change your life, and for the best, the whole time you’re working on it. But if something’s worth a damn, it’s likely difficult and unlikely to pan out, especially not exactly the way you thought it would. Given the liklihood of failure, you’ve got to be simultaneously capable of clinging to a thing like the Rock of Ages, and willing to let it go like it’s a literal balloon.
How can you cling to something like it’ll save your life, while being wiling to let it go without a hestiation?
I have not figured that out just yet. If you have any ideas, reach out.
If you tune in to zazen bozo and hear about a fantastical north african prince or an Algerian stone mason, well...don’t be too disappointed. It’ll be more interesting than the half-baked economic musings of a dingus.
