The girls are asleep, they went to bed early. The inlaws are out, they’re at a party. And I’m awake and hurrying out this blog, I’m working on something else. 

When you join our church our priest, Father Mark, gives a presentation about his perspective on the faith, specifically on radical non-violence and pacifism. Which is, to him, central to the Christian existence. 

His presentation is well researched and spirited, but it is designed by someone who is not a designer. He is a priest.

The presentation is effective, it has inspired me in many ways, but I have an eye for slide deck prestentations. I make them for work quite frequently.

I have been looking for a way to politely volunteer my time to redesign this presentation and it finally happened a few weeks ago, and that is what I am doing now instead of going to a New Year’s party. 

I don’t have much money to donate, but I do have this skill, so I am offering it to him. I hope it inspires others who inquire at Saint Jacob’s and beyond. 

Maybe I’ll have more thoughts about the year, looking forward and looking backward tomorrow, but for now I want to get back to doing this presentation. 

There’s almost certainly something more to be read into there, the passion I feel for something direct and actionable.
