Bloggin’

I forgot to write the blog last night, again.
I guess I’ve got some on my mind. Add to that how frustrating it is to make a new page on this platform and, well, it’s frustrating. I’ rather do something else, like relax or watch a bad movie, that’s what I did last night.

Before that I was pretty concerned about the wood stove I had installed. My Father in Law is a passionately safe perfectionist. That’s the best kind of father in law to have, but it can also be stressful when you’re convinced that you’ll burn your house down.

When you’re doing things around your house it’s tempting to cut corners, I’ve written about this. It’s also not uncommon to come across cut corners within the walls and guts of your home, corners cut by the previous owner wiht fewer scruples than you. What’s been incredible about witnessing those cut corners and their many sides, is that...some really sketchy stuff lasts for ages and ages. It’s incredible what you can get away with when you’re a fearless idiot.

I am, fortunately, not fearless. But I am an idiot. That means I do things incorrectly a lot of the time and I worry about it. Sometimes I worry about it enough to call in the big guns (my father-in-law). Such is the case with this woodstove. We’ll fix it when he’s visiting early next week. That and the steps, and who knows what else junk we discover.

Tally-ho!
