The two pictures below were done on a ga645zi, that’s a point and shoot medium format. Not a camera I’d ever seek out to own, but one I’m glad I’ve got, now that I do. It was the camera my father carried around for years. It’s a fashion designers camera.
I took those pictures on a walk with a friend, mostly as a lark, just to take pictures. I didn’t think they’d look very good: too busy, the light was a bit flat and overbright. But they’re two of my favorite pictures from there. Something about them just feels like summer in Burlington, the part of the city by the water where all those smelly trees grow.
When I got into photography I was interested in what it would do to the two people on either side of the lens, the images were secondary, really. I think they still are.
Maybe what’s incidental is best.
