Bad Movies

I recall when I was younger watching a kung fu movie with my sister, brother, and dad. It was comically bad. Just...not good. not the sort of bad that was fun, just bad bad. We winced and groaned through the whole thing, it wasn’t all that entertaining. At the end we were eager to complain, but my father said something along the lines of how much he enjoyed it. We all thought that was very funny. He’s never met a movie he didn’t like.

I used to be picky, as picky as Jack. Now I’m not. Now I’ll watch a bad movie just because I’ve got to finish it, and I can usually find the good in it, maybe that’s a waste of time. Generally my propensity to finish a movie means I stick to movies I love, I’ll rewatch a movie loads of times, loads. I’ve probably seen Phantom thread seven or eight times, not tired of it yet. Now, I haven’t finished it every time or paid a huge amount of attention while watching it every time, but I’ve caught wind of the vibe, and that’s worked pretty well for me.

Catching a vibe ain’t so bad.
