Parkinson’s Law
Parkinson’s law, which has nothing to do with the disease, states that “work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion.” I believe it is because of that law that my evenings for the past several months have been filled to the brim with the writing of this blog, that is until I’ve taken to writing here, in the car, where I am now. I’ve written here before about a desire to write this in the morning, a desire that I have not fulfilled because I walk in the morning and I’m lazy and habits are hard to break and hard to make.
I won’t be driving anywhere tomorrow, but I will the day after, in the early evening, then I’ll be stuck home again on Thursday, and driving on Friday, but I’ll be doing the driving, so I can’t write the blog, unless that blog post is about dying in a fiery car crash, which I would prefer to avoid.
Maybe I ought to voice memo some thoughts on my morning walk then transcribe them like I’m taking the notes of some deranged, sleepless morning poet.
Which of course, I am.
