I’m fairly sure I’ve written about this before, but the first time I visited the cottage on Cape Cod where I am currently staying, Abby and I had just begun dating. It has owned by her family for over a century, which is fantastic in and of itself. That first visit though, I was struck by how out of the way it is, how shallow and waveless and boring the water was, how quiet the streets and sleepy the neighborhood. There’s not a ton going on. 

Now that Roby’s here, wow, Im struck by how out of the way it is, the water is so shallow and waveless and easy to learn in, the streets are quiet and the only folks around are people you know. There’s not a ton going on.

It’s perfect for her. 
And that’s all that matters to me.
