Finally got the pictures back from my work trip to California. They didn’t take a long time, I’m just a bit lazy and didn’t drop them off until Monday. I had loads of digital photographs to serve, and really that was good enough for Govt. work. Who needs a picture of a horse anyways? I’ll send it to along with the rest to the account person, I think the client’d like to see them.
Having beautiful pictures of your place and of the things you do and the people you do them with is a prize of great value. I feel very lucky to make images I feel are often quite good, wheverever I go.
Often I forget to do that, or I’ll fail to do it for the mundane, but I shouldn’t, I ought to keep making pictures, even if it’s of boring stuff. Because by making images, we keep it from being boring, we make it sacred.
That I think is the gold of our human experience, making things sacred. Many things, some people might even say most of them, have a real lean towards the mundane or the terrible or the unfeeling. By making art of things we give them meaning, and that’s good.
I should take more pictures of this structure I’m building...
