Baby It’s Cold Out Side.
It was cold today, anyways. We had to load the fire and sit under blankets and Roby wore socks. I prefer it when she doesn’t wear socks, I like when her toes can feel the world, I think that’s nicer.
Jack came over and we played that game I spoke about, it was good fun. It reminded me of the ancient days of LAN (Local Area Network) parties, when we’d bring our computer towers or laptops to friends houses to play Diablo II until 2am while eating chips and chinese food and drinking soda and then eventually smoking weed, though usually not drinking for some reason, but maybe that was just me? Who knows. Those were good days and this smacked of something similar.
Though little does more to differentiate from youthful days than requiring we start bright and early becuase bed time’s the same time I used to eat a pre-dinner snack. Not that I’m complaining, not at all. The fact that LAN parties and video games and pre-dinner snacks used to be such a priority is something that baffles me more than it doesn’t. The things I used to prioritize...the things folks with kids prioritize. I know some people envy them the simplicity and the ease and the selfishness but I don’t.
I suppose that makes me some stodgy parent that people complain about. I think that’s alright, good even.
