Build Shop, Move Floor
It’s very funny, and I feel like him...more all the time.
I want to turn out old bedroom into an accessory dwelling unit we can rent out. To do that we need to add some fresh flooring, replace the windows, add a sink, a gas-line for a stove, a fridge, counters, and a spiral staircase, or some sort of staircase, up to the bedroom above.
Right now the tools that I’ll be using to do that are in the room that I’m aiming to transform, so, first things first, I’ve got to move the shop.
I’m planning on moving my shop to the barn.
But the barn has no floor, so I’ve got to build that first. But where then will I put all the junk that’s in the barn... beneath some tarps, I guess.
The backlog of projects and the steps, first, middle and last along the journey to doing them can be overwhelming. It’s important to think of ends, though. If we focus too much on what to do first and what to do second, we can lose touch with where it is we’re going, and that sacred and legendary land has a tendency to sneak up on us.
