Photography

I want to build a dark room in my basement. It’s got ample room down there, my storage isn’t efficient at all. All of the digital prints I’ve made have faded and turned wrong colors, they look bad. My analog prints have held up for years now, and I have analog prints made on the same equipment before I was born that look perfect.

I guess I’d have to start shooting analog again.

I guess I’d have to prioritize it.

I haven’t been taking as many pictures of Roby as I thought I might or as much as I used to. I take a lot of videos on my phone, but that’s not the same thing as a good picture.

I mean look at that. I want a large print of that in a frame. Maybe cropped in a bit with a waggly little silver line around the edges. The equipment I have, the equipment older than I am, has filed down edges that David, Roby’s namesake, did himself. It’s a unique look and I’m fond of it. Everything feels too crisp without that, and with it, the crispness of the image can reall sing.

I do my best to take pictures of Roby when I remember to, pictures on a real camera and not a pocket-poisoner. But she loves grabbing the camera and coming after me. That makes the images a little tougher to make.

It’ll get easier I think.

Just gotta keep remembering to make images.
