10,000 lbs

Today I read to Roby before her nap.

I was just going to read one book then go, but she decided she wanted Abby to read a book too. When I said I was going to go to let Abby read, Roby said “no, stay.” And put her little hand on my chest. It occurred to me that her hand might as well weigh 10,000 lbs for all the luck I’d have moving it and getting out of there without her say so.

I listen to Roby all the time. Her word is law.  There may come a time when that becomes a problem. But I’m not completely certain that is true.

I find profound satisfaction in treating Roby as a wise little saint and I do not expect to ever be proven wrong by that heuristic.

Yours &c.          Bozo
