I listened to a short story by blind boy on my morning walk today. It was real good, he’s a seriously talented writer. I wondered then, and I wonder now, how does he track the topics for his podcast?
Sometimes I’ll write down a passing thought in the notes app, and sometimes I won’t. Sometimes I’ll know exactly what I’ll write all day, then I’ll write it. Other times I’ll know exactly what I’ll write, then I’ll forget once I’ve sat down. Today is such a day.
Not a lot percolating and most of the notes I can refer to are about how cold it is and how much I love Abby and Roby. There’s only so many ways to put that to words, and really, I find most words hollow.
You can’t tell a dog you’re sorry, you can’t make promises to a dog. That’s because they don’t speak english. But I think that’s stil ltrue for humans, and many of them do speak English. Promises still don’t mean a thing.
It’s actions that have meaning. If the words feel like they don’t mean much, maybe their reptition will. The fact that most of this blog, that most nights, I’m writing little love letters to those two ladies, that probably counts for more than prose.
