Thai Food
We‘ve been real frugal lately, which means we cook almost everything we eat. Most of the three or four exceptions to that over the past few months have been at this hole in the wall.
It’s a thai spot in Montpelier, and it’s very good. My favorite. It’s a little too spicy for Abby, but it’s just right for me, perfect even.
The last two times we’ve been there we ate our food from tins at tables. They’ll serve it to you in bowls, but we’ve decided last minute to enjoy it to stay. Each time we’ve sat by some older gentleman eager to talk with us an inquire after Roby, I can’t blame them.
It’s a tender local spot, and it’s always busy. It’s the busiest place on the street and since the beginning of covid it has been only a window to order from, only recently have they opened up their 3 2-top tables.
The owner works there with his wife and daughter and a few folks what’ve been there for ages. It’s precisely the kind of place that makes me glad to be in Vermont, and to be from Vermont.
The place is cheap too, I don’t feel especially bad about going there on the starvation budget I’ve taken on. What’s more, the budget’s what makes it especially delicious. It’s the want of a thing that makes it taste so good.
But still, I wouldn’t mind going there more than once a month
