Pictures & Healing
We all experience things we’d rather not have. Such is life. Truth be told it’s the things we’d rather avoid that turn us into who we are, as a hammer to the lump between it and the anvil.
Many of these difficulties require some sort of recovery, as from a wound or an exercise. Our society has loads of stuff to be hurt about, we’ve spent most of our lives being hurt by institutions designed to keep us safe.
But just because you need to spend a lot of tme healing your veritable wound-man of a self does not mean that healing is an end unto itself. I know a few people that have lost themselves in that particular journey, and while I respect the intention, I pity the outcome.
I regret many things I’ve done in my life, that’s just being human. And while I aim to learn from those mistakes and to avoid them, sometimes I’ll settle for just avoiding them. There’s only so much we can do, and by dwelling on mistakes we wound ourselves again.
