Mission Driven

I don’t take as many photos as I used to, and I spent much less time editing and going through them. I did go through a few weeks of photos last night, and it’s incredible how almost every picture of Roby shows her rushing off somewhere, running and wiggling and dancing and moving. She’s intrepid to say the least, the sweet angel.
I was sharing some older photos with a friend recently and I feel like I was a better photographer back then, better in terms of time and skill, but also in terms of the equipment I was using. While I love my digital camera it doesn’t really hold up against my Hasselblad and Leica, obviously not. But those are too expensive, so I don’t get to use them anymore. if I had unlimited funds and could send the film off, perhaps. But I’d have to make a lot of money to justify that. A bit of a shame how much of an impact that makes.
Had I never bought my digital camera, it could have paid for about 50 rolls of film, that’s almost 2,000 images from the Leica. I’ve almost certainly taken more than that with the x100v, but how many of them are good? All 2,000 of the leica images would not have been exceptional or even good, but certainly a higher percentage. I’ve convinced myself it was the right choice, anyways. And now I can justify taking some real blurry shots of the baeb.
