Presummer

I cut two of the posts for the barn extension today. Reminds me of the wood shed, it’s the same process. The main difference is that I’ve got a much nicer, heavier chisel this time than I did last time, and it’s mine, and I carved an R into the top for Roby, so that I’ll think of her while I do the work.
I think that’s an important thing to do to tools, to remember why we’re using them in the first place.
It went faster than I thought, the two posts. That’s about as many as I can do with a skillsaw battery before it needs to be charged. so I’ll cut the joints and let it charge while I chisel it out, that’ll work well and keep me working. I’ll start in one corner and fit it piece by piece, from one corner to the other. I think that’ll work.
This is an important step before I can clean out my shop, which is an important step before I can finish the bench I promised my sister. Months and Months ago. It feels like that scene from Malcolm In The Middle. This one.
I’ll sometimes think that, as I carve an R into a chisel handle at night...I’m making those benches!
