Wiggle Room

I made good progress on the lumber storage rack today. This is not a picture of that, I’ve not taken any pictures of it. It was rickety, until it wasn’t. I learned a bit doing the lumber rack, but I’m still largely free wheeling it here. I think it’ll come together nicely, in the end. I’m not sure how I’ll manage to get the roofing material here. Last time I did it on my dads roof rack, but that felt pretty dangerous. I kept imagining it sliding off and bisecting a car in a horizontal fashion.
I was dog tired by the end, and it didn’t go very well the whole time. Really, it went badly at the start, but by the end, it was alright. Sturdy enough to hold wood.
There’s some wiggle room built into the system, and there’s enough wiggle room built into my deadline to make me not too stressed. There’s no baby bearing down on us this time. Of course, deadlines aren’t generally what drive me crazy or to the point of blisters. It’s a monomanaical obsession to be done that does that. I can’t let it be sometimes, I have to reach a stopping point: an even number, a good fraction, something. I can’t just stop and leave it all weird out there, even if I am comfortable leaving a bit of a mess.
Something to work on.
